Farnham exterior with hardwood repairs

The challenge

The side panels to the top windows had all rotted because they were never sealed behind when first installed ten years ago, letting the weather in and causing damp. The window bars had also become rotten in places, and all the caulk on the tongue and groove had failed.

What Nick did

Nick had completed the same repair next door the year before. The old panels were replaced and protected on both sides, rotten window bars were renewed in hardwood, and the failed caulk was cut out and replaced. The frontage was finished in Sandstone.

The result

This was the second of four houses Nick has restored on the road. The Sandstone finish keeps the frontage light and lets the original detailing stand out.
