A new kitchen, without buying a new kitchen.
Hand-painted kitchen cabinetry across Petersfield, Winchester and Hampshire - from tired doors to a finish that looks factory-made and lasts years of family use.
Repainting a kitchen typically costs a fraction of replacing it - and when it is prepared and painted properly, the result is hard to tell from new. It is the job we are best known for across Hampshire.
How we paint a kitchen
The finish is in the preparation. Every kitchen we paint gets the same sequence:
- Degrease and clean - kitchens carry years of cooking film that will fail any paint applied over it.
- Dustless sanding - every surface keyed back, with dust extracted at source so your home stays clean.
- Repairs and priming - chips filled, worn edges made good, the right adhesion primer for the substrate.
- Hand-applied topcoats - purpose-made cabinetry paint, laid off by hand for that fine brushed finish. Where a job suits a sprayed finish, we spray instead.
We recently took a bespoke two-piece kitchen for the cabinetmakers Kalluno Design from bare wood up to a full hand-painted finish - work they called "exceptional" when they shared it with their own clients. That is the standard every kitchen gets.
Paints we trust on cabinetry
Benjamin Moore Scuff-X, Little Greene Intelligent eggshell, Coat, Farrow & Ball - hard-wearing systems made for the knocks and cleaning a family kitchen takes. We will recommend the right one for your doors in the written quote.
Who it is for
Homeowners who like their kitchen layout but not the colour or tired finish. Solid timber, MDF and veneered doors all paint well. If a foil-wrapped high-gloss set will not take a lasting coat, we will say so at the survey - not after you have paid a deposit.
What affects the price
- Number of doors, drawers and end panels
- Condition of the existing finish and how much degreasing and sanding is needed
- Repairs to chips, edges and previous poor paint
- Whether the job is hand-painted in situ or sprayed
- The paint system you choose

Hand-Painted Kitchens across the patch
Based in Petersfield, working across east Hampshire and the Surrey and West Sussex borders. A few towns people often ask about:
Hand-Painted Kitchens: your questions
Is a hand-painted kitchen better than a spray finish?
They are different finishes for different situations. Hand painting gives a subtle, traditional brushed finish that suits period homes and in-frame kitchens, and it can be done in situ with less masking. Spraying gives a factory-flat finish and suits modern slab doors. We do both - hand painting on site, spraying where the job calls for it.
What paint do you use on kitchen cabinets?
Purpose-made cabinetry systems: Benjamin Moore Scuff-X, Little Greene Intelligent eggshell, Coat, or a sprayed lacquer where the job suits it. These are far more durable than standard wall paints - they resist knocks, grease and repeated cleaning.
How long does a painted kitchen finish last?
With the right preparation and a proper cabinetry paint system, ten years or more of normal family use. Preparation is everything: we clean, degrease, sand, prime and caulk before any topcoat goes on - which is why our finishes last.
Can you paint any kitchen?
Almost. Solid timber, MDF and veneered doors all paint beautifully. High-gloss foil-wrapped doors are the main exception - we will tell you honestly at the quote visit if yours will not give a lasting result.
