Keep the kitchen. Change the finish.
Nick paints existing kitchen cabinetry and new joinery. The material, current coating and condition all need checking before the paint system is chosen.
A sound kitchen can often be given a completely different look without replacing the cabinetry. The important bit is working out what the doors are made from, what is already on them and how much preparation they need.
Kitchen work you can see here
- Bare timber cabinetry - a two-piece Kalluno Design kitchen built up and finished by hand with sash and laying-off brushes.
- Fluted joinery - brush-applied coats worked across detailed cabinet faces in Benjamin Moore Brick.
- Existing doors and units - prepared and repainted in a cabinetry finish chosen for the job.
- Sprayed joinery - used for the bespoke kitchen in the Swedish-style house.
Those are examples of previous jobs. Your kitchen may need a different approach once Nick has seen the surface and existing finish.
What changes the price
The number of doors and drawers matters, but so do the current coating, repairs, access and amount of preparation. The paint system and finish you choose also affect the work involved.

Hand-Painted Kitchens: your questions
Do you hand-paint or spray kitchen cabinetry?
Nick has completed both brush-applied and sprayed cabinetry jobs. The right method depends on the kitchen, the surface and the finish you want.
What paint have you used on kitchen cabinets?
The kitchen jobs shown here include Benjamin Moore Brick, Little Greene finishes and Coat On Mute. Nick can talk through a suitable system after seeing the existing surface.
Can my existing kitchen be painted?
That depends on the door material and the existing coating. Send the details and photographs, then Nick can say whether it is a sensible painting job.
