One room, the hallway or the whole house.
Walls, ceilings, woodwork and staircases all need the right preparation before the colour goes on.
Some decorating jobs are one room. Others run through a ground floor or the whole house. Either way, Nick starts with the condition of the walls, ceilings and woodwork, rather than treating every surface the same.
A few examples
- Whole homes - including a three-storey, five-bedroom house decorated from bare surfaces through to the finished rooms.
- Older walls - Earthborn Clay White was used where the Swedish-style house needed a breathable wall finish.
- Hallways and stairs - old caulk cut out, walls sanded flat and several finishes brought together across the same space.
- Ceilings and woodwork - including jobs using Tikkurila Anti-Reflex and Benjamin Moore Scuff-X.
Nick will check what is already on the surface and talk through the finish before the materials and preparation are agreed.
What changes the price
Room size, ceiling height, access and surface condition all matter. Filling, caulking and sanding can change the amount of work just as much as the number of rooms.
